Sara Baume and John Boyne reading. @ The Bookseller Crow | England | United Kingdom

The Crow is knocked out to be presenting two of Ireland’s finest writers on one special evening.

“Once again, I’ve been Baumed,” remarks Joseph O’Connor of her much anticipated second novel, A Line Made By Walking. Meanwhile Bookseller Crow favourite Colum McCann notes that he wishes he could send a copy to the late John Berger as he would have “found great joy” in its honesty, “its agility, its invention.” Here at the shop we have appreciated Spill Simmer Falter Wither and cannot wait for the author to come and share this new tale of integrity and luminosity.

John Boyne, accomplished  author of the acclaimed Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, arrives in SE19 with a funny and poignant novel set over the last seventy years seen through the eyes of an adopted Dubliner.“For many years, people asked me why I never wrote about my native Ireland,” he says. “But… I found myself more intrigued with the history and social mores of my own country.” Furthermore, The Heart’s Invisible Furies is dedicated to the great John Irving who is clearly a fan.

So join us to be Baumed, and indeed Boyned, on Tuesday 21st February at 7.30. Tickets £3 with refreshment (of course..)
