Join us for an author event with Will Eaves and Charles Boyle when they discuss their new books, Invasion of the Polyhedrons, a book of stories-cum-essays, and the travelogue, Invisible Dogs.
WILL EAVES (Invasion of the Polyhedrons)
Will has written five novels, two books of poetry, and one volume of literary essays. His astonishing novel, MURMUR, won the Wellcome Book Prize in 2019 and was shortlisted for the Goldsmiths Prize.
“Murmur is a novel of multiple ideas, which seems right given its main protagonist, Alec Pryor, is loosely based on the predicament of the philosophical mathematician Alan Turing. It is also a novel forged from an immensely beautiful writing intelligence. Murmur is a fully achieved literary experiment, digging deep into all the dimensions of human consciousness, including state sanctioned savagery.” – Deborah Levy
He has appeared on BBC Radio 3’s The Verb, with Ian Macmillan, and on BBC Radio 4’s Start the Week and Open Book. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
CHARLES BOYLE (Invisible Dogs)
Charles Boyle is the tour de force behind CB editions publishing. He publishes short fiction, poetry, translations and other work which ‘might otherwise fall through the cracks between the big publishers’ (Guardian). The first four books were published in 2007 to great success. Since then CBe titles have won prizes for fiction, poetry and translation, and have been shortlisted for many other awards. A brief history of the press is available from this website: Farthings: CB editions in 113 bites.
