In preparation for the publication of Isy Suttie’s forthcoming first novel Jane Gives In, and Chris Neill’s latest Radio 4 series Woof, both will be reading new material for this special evening in support of the bookshop. The last time Isy read aloud in Bookseller Crow was at the launch of her memoir The Actual One, published by Orion in 2016, after which she proposed to her boyfriend. At this event she’ll probably ask him to finally buy the ring. Chris will be trying-out material from the third series of his radio show Woof: True Tales Of Romance And Failure. Unable to do all the voices himself he’ll be wearing a range of contrasting hats to aid understanding. On Isy Suttie’s The Actual One – “Always funny, always daft … endlessly entertaining.” – Alan Davies On Chris Neill’s Woof – “Blissfully well written. Neill may be first and foremost a comedian, but his observations are as acute as any novelist’s. Sweet, sharp and very funny.” The Times
