Join us for the celebration and launch of Kester’s new non-fiction title, God-like: A 500-year history of Artificial Intelligence in myths, machines, monsters.
Recently, with his new role at the Institute for the Future of Work, Kester has been working across parliament, industry and academia and thinking about how AI and automation is going to impact people’s work. Forget Musk and the ‘end of work’ or ‘end of humanity’ stuff… there are real changes happening now, and his book is an attempt to put those into a longer context of the human desires that have led to us inventing this crazy thing. He uses the term ‘God-like’ because that’s what the government’s own lead on AI safety called it… which strikes him as quite bonkers. Free event, all welcome.
